Joan Hemenway currently serves as President of the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education. She has been a CPE Supervisor for over 30 years. She is also a board-certified chaplain and a fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. She has written a number of articles about CPE and theological education. Her book entitled Inside the Circle: A Historical and Practicle Inquiry Concerning Process Groups in Clinical Pastoral Education (JPCC Publications, 1996) is widely used in CPE supervisory education programs. She is a former United Methodist chaplain and pastor, now retired.
